Migraine Mask vs. Eye Pillow: Key Differences
Share
An eye pillow and a migraine mask look similar at a glance but serve different purposes.
Eye pillows
Typically filled with flaxseed or lavender, eye pillows rest across closed eyes and are used briefly during meditation or short relaxation sessions. They're not designed to be worn for hours or during sleep.
Migraine masks
Built for extended wear, migraine masks use a contoured, strapped design that stays in place through sleep or long stretches of rest, with full light-blocking as the primary function.
Which one for what
An eye pillow suits a 15-minute relaxation break. A contoured mask suits an actual migraine attack or overnight light sensitivity, where you need hours of reliable coverage.
Can they overlap?
Some people use both — an eye pillow for short daytime rests, a mask for sleep or extended attacks.
